Carnival Network South East Launched

The very first regional carnival network was successfully launched at a two-day conference hosted by the Carnival Learning Centre in January, funded by Arts Council England South East.  50 delegates attended from all over the region.  The conference focussed on:

- Day One: ‘Building and sustaining a successful network’
- Day Two: ‘Partnerships like never before’

Guest speakers included Julian Rudd, Coordinator of the Independent Street Arts Network and Colin Prescod, Chair of the Carnival Village, London. Brighton Maracatu and Reading All Steel Percussion Orchestra were on hand to lighten the load!
The conference was jointly chaired by Steve Pascal, CEO Notting Hill Carnival Ltd and Pax Nindi, Combined Arts Services.

If you missed the conference but would like to be part of the network please contact the Chair of CNSE directly - Jacque Roberts @ svg2. email sv2g.office@tiscali.co.uk
