The Carnival Learning Centre is delighted to be managing the pilot programme ‘diversity in outdoor leadership’ on behalf of Arts Council England South East. The programme will offer four experienced BME outdoor producers/promoters from around the region a tailor-made training and mentoring programme in order to enhance their capacity to become future leaders in the field.
Each bursary will be in the region of £3500 and will cover the costs of any training attended, go-see visits, mentoring or other opportunities identified by the successful applicants as well as a fee to cover time spent within the project. This is a clear indication that the Arts Council is seeking to address under-representation by certain groups in both Street Arts and Carnival in the region. Obviously with such a pilot it will be critical to evaluate the impact of the programme and ensure support is maintained for the beneficiaries.
For an informal discussion about the opportunities call Chris Slann at The Centre.
Deadline for applications Friday 2 October 2009. .
