For its small compact size (the island is only 25 miles by 15 miles) and with a total population of only 150,000, the Isle of Wight abounds with school and community carnival groups that work all year round to produce the fabulous displays you will witness at Island events. In fact, we suspect we have more active carnival participants per square mile than anywhere else in the country. Many meet and perform purely for fun at their local events - but some also offer workshops and touring to the mainland.
